TUESDAY RUNDOWN: BRYN ROY, LOUBARDIAS AND PLENTY MORE

Some more great sports friends joined us at Grey Eagle Resort & Casino on Tuesday for Episode #878 of The RP Show – Daytime Sports & Entertainment Talk – on Game+ TV and WQEE Radio! Here’s the rundown:

• RP and Moose Dupont got things going with The Warmup covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) NHL Morning Skate including the Flames and Oilers kicking off road trips with losses, 2) NHL Notes & the Daily Poll, 3) Monday Night Football saw the Ravens down the Saints 27-13, 4) Are pundits correct in saying the Colts hiring Jeff Saturday as coach is a slap in the face of Black coaches? (Rod said it’s a slap in the face of ALL coaches), 5) In the NBA the Raptors fell to the Bulls and the Hawks upset the Bucks, 6) Randoms.
• Former CFL linebacker/fullback Bryn Roy (Roughriders, Alouettes & Eskimos) joined the show to discuss his colourful sporting career. The son of rodeo legend Mark Roy was the CPRA Steer Wrestling Rookie of the Year and was in Alberta taking in the Canadian Finals Rodeo in Red Deer. Bryn told plenty of colourful CFL stories including playing for Chris Jones in Sask in 2016, and witnessing all the ups and downs of the Alouettes during his time in Montreal. Bryn promoted his upcoming Player Combine in Strathmore, AB in December. Bryn was a popular guest and took plenty of questions from viewers.
• The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Should NHL stars be expected to fight? At press time over 70% of respondents said no.
• Calgary Flames radio broadcaster Peter Loubardias joined the show in Hour 2 and discussed the Flames’ 4-3 OT loss at the New York Islanders on Monday and previewed Tuesday’s game at New Jersey. Pete explained why it was important for the team to get out on the road after an 8-game homestand, but admitted it hasn’t gone as well as hoped. (The Flames would 3-2 to the Devils for their sixth straight loss).
• A good chunk of Hour 2 was devoted to Viewer Takeover and fans were eager to talk about the future of Bo Levi Mitchell and the potential of him signing in Saskatchewan. Rod said he’s already tired of this story!
• Monday’s Rockstar of the Day for RoxDar Supply Chain Solutions as Ryan Thelwell. Tuesday’s was Bryn Roy.
