TUESDAY RUNDOWN: LANNY!

Tuesday was shaping up to be a huge day in sports and we welcomed some big name guests for Episode #991 of The RP Show – Daytime Sportstalk – live from Hotel Clique Calgary Airport on Game+ TV, WQEE and Streaming! Here’s the rundown:

• RP and Moose Dupont kicked it all off with The Warmup covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) The Devils knock out the Rangers in Game 7, 2) Round 2 opens Tuesday night with Rod’s Panthers visiting Darren’s Maple Leafs, and the Kraken at Stars, 3) The Blue Jays lose a wild one, 6-5 at Boston, 4) It’s CFL Draft Day, 5) NBA Playoffs, and 6) Dub Hub.
• NHL legend and Hockey Hall of Fame Chairman Lanny McDonald dropped by Hotel Clique for a quick NHL chat. He felt a change was needed with the Flames and said the outlook is positive for his team. (Lanny is a Flames ambassador). McDonald also spent many great years with the Leafs and said he’ll be pulling for Toronto against Florida. He said he and former Leafs teammate Darryl Sittler are in tough daily. On Wednesday, Lanny’s off to England with the Stanley Cup to do some NHL PR.
• NHL On ESPN analyst Kevin Weeks was in next to recap Game 7 between the Devils & Rangers, said an Edmonton/Toronto Stanley Cup Final would be a GREAT thing for the NHL, and revealed how he’s escalated his career to being one of the top NHL Insiders.
• Moose returned in Hour 2 for CFL Draft preview chat, more on the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and a preview of Game 3 between the ICE & Blades in Saskatoon.
• Sirius/XM NHL Radio’s Scott Laughlin joined the show next to preview the Florida/Panther series and said the Leafs should be wary of the Panthers. He examined the woeful state of the Winnipeg Jets and discussed being a “Day 1 guy” with NHL Radio on satellite.
• The daily Key Auto Group poll question was: Who’s the favourite in the NHL’s Eastern Conference – Carolina, Florida, New Jersey or Toronto? At press time, the Leafs were leading.
• Monday’s Rockstar of the Day was Tim Hunter. Tuesday’s was Lanny McDonald.
