TUESDAY RUNDOWN: LANNY MCDONALD, FOREIGNER AND MUCH MORE!

The fun continued at Grey Eagle Resort & Casino on Tuesday’s Episode #711 of The RP Show – Daytime Sports & Entertainment Talk! Read on for the rundown:

• RP opened the show with a special guest – keyboardist and vocalist Michael Bluestein of the band Foreigner – for a five minute chat previewing their upcoming shows March 19 & 20 at Grey Eagle Event Centre. They discussed how the entertainment industry survived Covid, agreed that “Urgent” is both of their favourite songs by the band, and previewed what concert-goers will witness in a couple weeks’ time. Be watching in the days ahead for ticket giveaways!
• RP was then joined by Moose Dupont for the Quick Six show topics and breaking news of Aaron Rodgers’ new 4-year, $200M deal with the Packers. The topics were 1) Flames 3 Oilers 1, 2) Other Monday NHL leftovers, 3) Things are heating up at the Brier in Lethbridge, 4) Falcons receiver Calvin Ridley is suspended for the 2022 NFL season for betting on games, 5) The Ticats announce coaching staff hires, and 6) A preview of Tuesday night’s NHL games including the Kraken at the Leafs and Alex Ovechkin and the Capitals visiting the Flames.
• The panel did a deep-dive on the Calvin Ridley suspension, and the prevalence of betting by pro athletes. (Does it go on?) Viewers chimed in with their thoughts on that, plus Alex Ovechkin being vilified for his relationship with Russian leader Vladimir Putin
• The Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Who’s the most-coveted free agent trade deadline acquisition – Marc-Andre Fleury, JT Miller, PK Subban or Ben Chiarot? At press time, the Flower was leading by a large margin.
• In Hour 2 for Great Western Original 16 Beer we were joined by Hockey Hall of Famer and Flames great Lanny McDonald at Grey Eagle! The member of the 500-goal club and Stanley Cup champion stayed for a 40-minute chat and told tales of playing for Don Cherry with the Colorado Rockies, old time Flames stories and an analysis of the red-hot Calgary team.
