TUESDAY RUNDOWN: MADANI, DUGUAY, TELEMIRACLE AND MORE!
We covered a lot of ground on Tuesday’s Episode #902 of The RP Show – Canada’s Daytime Sports Talkshow on Game+ TV, YouTube and WQEE! Here’s the rundown:
- RP and Moose Dupont kicked off the show with these Quick Six show topics: 1) Monday NHL leftovers – it was Revenge Of The Goalies Night!, 2) Kyle Murray goes down in Arizona’s 27-13 home loss to New England on Monday Night Football, 3) In the NBA the Hawks fell 128-103 at the Grizzlies, 4) Hockey Canada announced its roster for the 2023 tournament beginning Boxing Day in Halifax. Could they beat last year’s team?, 5) CFL Notes – John Hufnagel steps down as Stampeders GM and the Roughriders name Kelly Jeffrey as Offensive Coordinator, and 6) 12 games highlight Tuesday night’s NHL schedule.
- This week marks the 30th anniversary of Gary Bettman being named Commissioner of the NHL. The question was put to viewers: what grade would you give Bettman? Rod gave him an A while Moose awarded Bettman a B+.
- Sportsnet’s Arash Madani joined the show to discuss all the above topics and more. Regarding Bettman, Arash feels NHL owners would definitely give him an A however he still can’t figure out Bettman’s love for the Arizona market. Regarding the Blue Jays off-season, the host of Jays telecasts said they’ve had a very strong week by addressing their starting rotation in free agency, the middle of the field and more however Arash said he’d have been a lot more excited about the Kevin Kermaier signing four years ago. Regarding the CFL, Madani explained the Stampeders have lost out in three straight division semifinals and it was likely time for a change in the GM’s chair. He also advised Rider fans not to sleep on Kelly Jeffrey, and predicted he’ll be great in the OC role.
- Telemiracle chairman Scott Lamb joined the show to promote Telemiracle 47’s online 50/50 raffle. The winner will be drawn on Friday and Lamb encouraged viewers to purchase their tickets this week at www.telemiracle5050.com. Scott explained the vital role the Kinsmen Foundation provides for disadvantaged citizens in Saskatchewan.
- Popular RP Show NHL analyst and New York Rangers great Ron Duguay joined the show from St. Augustine, FL to chat NHL. He went deep on the Rangers and their 4-3 OT win over the Devils on Monday night. “Duges” feels right now New Jersey is the better team based on the standings but said the Rangers would win a seven game series. Duguay then fielded questions from the viewers including hilarious stories about meeting John Candy and Sylvester Stallone while playing with Wayne Gretzky and the L.A. Kings.
- It was Day 11 of our NHL Reverse Retro Jersey Bracket. Tuesday’s Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Whose Reverse Retro jersey is better – St. Louis or Nashville? At press time the Blues were leading with over 70% of the vote.
- Monday’s Rockstar of the Day was Ryan Dinwiddie. Tuesday’s was Ron Duguay!

This can’t wait until his next column. 1) “Reporter” Grant Wahl died of an aortic aneurysm that ruptured. This had nothing to do with him being a guest of a country in Qatar and shooting his virtue signalling mouth of. Instead he wasted his valuable time on Earth complaining about issues that he had no business mentioning, devoted hours upon hours of virtue signalling while doing nothing for the people he was supposedly trying to help. The result is a 49 year old man “expired”… Read more »
