There are loads of great NHL match-ups this week plus Nathan Rourke still dominates the news and we analyzed it all on Tuesday’s Episode #919 of The RP Show – Daytime Sports Talk – on Game+ TV, WQEE and YouTube Live! Here’s the rundown:

  • RP and Moose Dupont kicked things off with The Warmup covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) The Cowboys moved on in the NFL Playoffs with a 31-14 win at Tampa Bay on Monday Night Football. What’s next for Tom Brady?, 2) NHL leftovers, 3) NHL appetizers including Tuesday’s slate of WPG/MTL, FLA/MTL and SEA/EDM, 4) A clarification from RP on Nathan Rourke’s “Unforeseen Detour” comment regarding the CFL, 5) In the NBA the Raptors and Hawks won on Martin Luther King Day, and 6) Randoms including Tuesday evening’s games in the WHL, OHL and QMJHL.
  • In Round 2 of our NHL Reverse Retro Jersey Bracket, the daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Whose jersey is better – Toronto or New Jersey? At press time the Leafs were leading with 66% of the vote.
  • Iconic sports talk host Mike Richards of Sauga 960 joined the show for an entertaining chat. He surmised that Tom Brady will sign with the Las Vegas Raiders this winter. Regarding Nathan Rourke, Richards wondered “how far CFL fans have their head up their ass?” regarding his decision to leave BC for Jacksonville. Raw Mike had the crew and audience rolling.
  • In Hour 2 we were joined by Montreal Canadiens TV colour analyst and TSN commentator Dave Poulin. He previewed the Jets/Canadiens clash and said the Habs are going to be a very good team under head coach Martin St. Louis, especially once he figures out the coaching role. Poulin continues to be impressed by the Jets, especially since they have much the same roster as last year.
  • Monday’s Rockstar of the Day was Justin Dunk. Tuesday’s was Mike Richards!
