TUESDAY RUNDOWN: R.V. JOINS!

Tuesday’s Episode #721 of The RP Show – Daytime Sports & Entertainment Talk – went to the dogs! Read on for the rundown:

  • RP and Moose Dupont kicked it off discussing what they’re streaming now (Drive To Survive, The Reaper, Last One Laughing, etc.) and then got into these Quick Six show topics in The Warmup: 1) NHL Trade Deadline Recap: What exactly did the Jets do?, 2) Monday NHL leftovers, 3) The Indianapolis Colts acquire QB Matt Ryan and he’s been replaced by Marcus Mariota in Atlanta, 4) The Blue Jays beat the Tigers 3-1 in spring training, 5) The Raptors fall 113-99 to the Bulls, and 6) More on Kevin Martin spilling all the curling break-up news on his podcast, rankling the curling fraternity.
  • NHL.com Minnesota’s Jessi Pierce – host of the BarDown Beauties Podcast – joined the show to discuss the Wild’s acquisition of Marc-Andre Fleury at the deadline. The question came up: Who’s the biggest name player to ever suit up for the Wild? Jessi said it’s likely Fleury, although the names Marion Gaborik, Dany Heatley and Mikko Koivu also came up. Pierce explained Wild GM Bill Guerin’s close friendship with Fleury led to the deal, and said neither party’s sure what will happen past this season. She said the Wild were strong before the trade, but now have to be considered legitimate Stanley Cup favourites given all their acquisitions (including Tyson Jost).
  • The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question as: Which team is the top contender in the NHL’s Eastern Conference – Florida, Tampa Bay, Carolina or NY Rangers? At press time, the Panthers were leading.
  • In Hour 2 for Great Western Original 16 Beer we were joined by Leader Post columnist Rob Vanstone and his dog Candy. RV noted that Candy was a rescue dog, and has been with the family for almost a year. Rob said he’s appalled by how some humans treat animals. This was a very wide-ranging chat, and Vanstone said his beloved Winnipeg Jets are a “joyless” team in need of a major shakeup. Regarding potential CFL rule changes, RV said he favours have a balanced amount of Canadian players on the field on offense and defense in order to even the playing field. Rod asked for a CFL West Division prediction and Rob said Winnipeg is the team to beat and Edmonton will surprise. RV then detoured into a rant about the CFL’s lack of visibility in the off-season and said the league doesn’t seem to understand they need to relentlessly seek to be in the news cycle. He noted that if the Leader Post and The RP Show aren’t talking about the CFL we’ll be talking about something else. Regarding the acquisition of QB Russell Wilson by his beloved Denver Broncos, Rob said he can’t wait for NFL season!
  • Monday’s Rockstar of the Day for RoxDar Supply Chain Solutions was Florida Panthers radio analyst Bill Lindsay. Tuesday’s was Candy!

….proof positive you have crappola players in this league and like little league you hide the worst ones at second base and right field.
