The Stanley Cup Playoffs are in full swing and we loaded up with first-liners on Tuesday’s Episode #982 of The RP Show – Daytime Sportstalk – live from Ace Casino! Here’s the rundown:

  • RP and Moose Dupont kicked things off with The Warmup covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) Monday’s NHL leftovers, 2) The Blue Jays kicked off their road trip with a 9-2 loss at Houston, 3) Philadelphia QB Jalen Hurts signs the richest deal in the NFL, 4) Tuesday night’s Stanley Cup Playoff games, 5) Dub Hub, Junior A and AHL Playoffs, and 6) NBA Playoff recap.
  • Former Flame, Sabre and Stanley Cup champion Colin Patterson joined us at Ace Casino for a methodical run through the NHL. He recapped Monday’s games saying the Wild/Stars was the best, and said the Oilers blowing Game 1 warmed his heart! “Patter” touched on the Flames parting with GM Brad Treliving and said he can be proud of the job he did with the Flames. The interview carried over into Hour 2 where we previewed Tuesday night’s 4-game slate.
  • The daily Key Auto Group poll question was: What’s the Game Of The Night in the NHL – NYR/NJD, TB/TOR, WPG/VGK or SEA/COL? At press time, Lightning/Leafs was leading by a mile.
  • Next up we were joined by former L.A. Kings scout and Pats, Hurricanes & Warriors coach Parry Shockey. “Shocks” detailed all of Monday night’s games and said the Oilers need to “flush it”. Parry was headed to Red Deer for Game 3 between the Blades and Rebels and we looked across all the WHL second round series.
  • Calgary Wranglers head coach Mitch Love joined the show from his Saddledome office and discussed winning AHL Coach Of The Year for a second consecutive season. Only Gord Dineen and Robbie Ftorek accomplished that feat before him. The former Blades coach said the Wranglers don’t know who their first round opponent is, but they’ll be ready. He also discussed the seasons of Wranglers stars Dustin Wolf and Matthew Phillips.
  • Monday’s Rockstar of the Day was Peter Loubardias. Tuesday’s was Colin Patterson!
