SASKATOON (CP) – Corey Small scored five times as the Vancouver Stealth toppled the Saskatchewan Rush 13-11 on Friday night in National Lacrosse League action at the SaskTel Centre.
It was the first-ever professional lacrosse game played in Saskatchewan after the NLL-champion Rush relocated from Edmonton this summer.
Jordan Durston, Joel McCready and Rhys Duch all had a pair of goals for the Stealth (1-1). Travis Cornwall and Logan Schuss had the others, with Eric Penney making 36 saves for the win in net.
Chris Corbeil and Robert Church both scored hat tricks for Saskatchewan (1-1). Zack Greer and Curtis Knight struck twice each, with Mark Matthews adding the other. Aaron Bold turned away 23 shots in the loss.
Vancouver scored three times on four power plays, with the Rush converting twice on three chances with the man advantage.
Decent crowd of 9,000+ for franchise first ever game, next home game maybe 5,000.
How did fans enjoy the experience? Did it live up to the hype?
Great time, I predict at least 10,000 fans next game after word gets out on how much fun these games are. Despite the loss, fans left happy after experiencing the party like atmosphere. I for one will be making the trip to Saskatoon again for another game.

Great comment Tyler. Thanks for sharing. It would be nice if everyone could make this a positive thing for the province and not making it a constant attendance issue. We want fans from Regina to come up for as many games as they can make it to. I am definitely going with a large group of people to a game and hopefully more after that. Don't know a whole lot about it but willing to check it out for sure. Anyone else wishing to share their experience please post as well. Darren M
The idiot who keeps using the name 'sliders' needs to get a life. We get it that Edmonton lost its coaches and lacrosse team and you are peed off. Grow up!
Never went to the game in Saskatoon, but took in a Roughnecks game years ago, and the atmosphere was great. Well over 10,000 in attendance. The relaxed atmosphere with non stop play is nice. Was like a party almost. If the Rush games are the same,then crowds should grow after some people take in a game.
