WALL TO RETIRE FROM POLITICS

Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall says it’s time for renewal.

The 51-year-old has announced he is retiring from politics.

Wall has served as premier for a decade and says he will stay on until his successor is chosen.

He’s been ranked as one of the country’s most popular premiers for years, but took a hit after his government tabled an austerity budget this spring that boosted the provincial sales tax and made deep cuts to social services.
