Moose Jaw Warriors General Manager Alan Millar has announced today that Jason Ripplinger has been named the hockey club’s Assistant General Manager and Doug Gasper, the clubs Director of Scouting, has resigned and accepted a scouting position in the National Hockey League.

Ripplinger, who lives in Regina, joins the Warriors after spending the past 17 years with the Vancouver Giants.  Ripplinger has been with the Giants since their inception in the WHL in 2001, he was originally named Vancouver’s Head Scout and was promoted to Director, Player Personnel in 2008.  During Ripplinger’s time in Vancouver the Giants won the 2006 WHL Championship and the 2007 Memorial Cup.

“I am very pleased to add Jason Ripplinger to our hockey operations staff in the newly created position of Assistant General Manager,” stated Millar.  “Jason brings a wealth of experience to our hockey club and is very well respected throughout hockey. As Assistant General Manager, Jason will be involved in all areas of our hockey operations while overseeing the Warriors scouting staff, Bantam Draft and player development initiatives,” concluded Millar.  “Finally, I’d like to thank Vancouver Giants owner Ron Toigo and General Manager Glen Hanlon for their support in allowing us to discuss this opportunity with Jason.”

“For me this was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up,” said Ripplinger.  “The opportunity to work with Alan Millar, the direction the Warriors are going, and being close to my family were all keys in making my decision.”

Gasper joined the Warriors in 2007 and was promoted to Assistant Head Scout in 2012, he was named Director of Scouting in 2015.

“I want to thank Doug for all his hard work and commitment to our hockey club,” stated Millar. “This is an incredible opportunity for Doug in the National Hockey League and we wish him the best.”
