WARRIORS NAME WENINGER GOALIE COACH

Moose Jaw Warriors General Manager Alan Millar has announced the hiring of Matt Weninger as the teams new Goalie Coach.

Weninger is currently the Regional Consultant and Goaltending Lead for Hockey Alberta and previously worked with the Saskatchewan Hockey Association in 2015-2016 as a Goaltending and Coaching Consultant.

Weninger’s other Goalie Coach/Instructor experience include: Goalie Coach for the Yorkton Terriers (SJHL) from 2015-2017; Goalie Coach at Laurentian University (CIS) from 2014-2015; and Hockey Canada experience in 2016-2017 with the Program of Excellence Under-17 program.

Weninger played four seasons at St. Lawrence University (NCAA Division 1) from 2010 to 2014.  As a four year starter, he holds school records for career and single season games played, minutes played, consecutive games played, and total saves.  In 2014 Weninger was awarded the schools Terry Slater Perseverance Award.  At the conclusion of his college career, Weninger signed with the American Hockey League’s Adirondack Phantoms.  Prior to attending St. Lawrence University, Weninger played three years in the SJHL with Kindersley and Flin Flon.
