WCBL RELEASES 2019 SCHEDULE
The Western Canadian Baseball League (WCBL), released its 2019 regular season schedule on Monday.
This year’s WCBL regular season schedule will be extended into the first week of August with each ball club playing 56 games. This change provides an additional four regular season home games for all teams. The WCBL will also hold an all-star game in Edmonton on July 7.
To provide WCBL players enough time to return to their university teams, all first round playoff series will start on August 8 and now be the best of three.
Last year the WMBL regular season consisted of 48 games (24 home games) followed by the best of five playoff series.
“This positive change will allow our fans and teams to enjoy playing regular season home games during the best weather of the summer,” said Kevin Kvame, president of the WCBL.
2019 Schedule Highlights:
May 25 – Opening Day
July 7 – WCBL All-Star game in Edmonton
