The Saskatoon Berries are excited to announce the re-signing of 2024 WCBL Most Outstanding Player & Rookie of the Year, Carter Beck (Indiana State Baseball).

The Carnduff, SK slugger dazzled in his debut season. Beck led the Berries with a juicy batting average of .374, 11 homers, 53 runs, 38 RBI and 19 stolen bases in 51 games played.

“It was a super easy decision to come back, especially with how well the Jam Fam treated us all year,” said outfielder Carter Beck.

Beck’s impressive debut in the WCBL led to an All-Star selection. His talent was on full display at the 2024 WCBL All-Star Game, winning MVP after posting three RBI’s and hitting dingers on his way to the runner up award in the Home Run Derby.

“We are very excited to have Carter back in Saskatoon for the upcoming summer. He was an impact guy for us season and brings energy to the park everyday. The level of his day to day consistency in work ethic, attitude and competitiveness is special,” said Berries Head Coach Joe Carnahan.

Berries fans will never forget the moment where Beck hit for the cycle in Game 1 of the East Division Championship against Moose Jaw. A magical moment that caused the crowd to erupt, something Beck is looking forward to experiencing again this summer.

“I’m thrilled to be back in Saskatoon. I’m just excited to play in front of a packed house with the Jam Fam going nuts. Playing baseball there is some of the most fun I have ever had in my life,” said Beck.

Beck’s standout year led him to a NCAA Division 1 commitment to play with the Indiana State Sycamores.

“It’s gone very well at Indiana. It’s definitely been a grind but I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else, it’s awesome. On the development side, I feel like my swing is better than it ever has been right now and I am continuing to get stronger and faster every week.”

Welcome home, Carter!
