  • The panel noted that after consulting with various Flames & Saddledome staffers, they agree that Calgary is in need of a new arena. What now?
  • The Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Who do you support in Pissy Gate – Leon Draisaitl, Jim Matheson, Both or Neither? At press time, Draisaitl was leading however Rod said he voted for “Neither”.
  • TSN Sportscentre anchor Jermain Franklin joined the show from Toronto. “Franky” covered Calgary sports for years for TSN and said the Flames resurgence can all be tied to Darryl Sutter and his mantra of “hard work”. He also noted that Calgarians are gleefully watching the turmoil in Edmonton, and enjoying it all. Regarding the Saddledome, Jermain said the facility is likely unsafe in a lot of ways. And as a staunch Raptors fan, Jermain talked about Toronto’s NBA team and figures they have what it takes to make the playoffs.
  • In Hour 2 for Great Western Original 16 Beer we were joined by NFL Insider Jim Lang who gave his thoughts on Wildcard Playoff Weekend and said the Cowboys won’t fire head coach Mike McCarthy because owner Jerry Jones won’t admit a mistake. Jimbo also teed up this weekend’s Divisional Playoff NFL games and figures the Bills will upset Kansas City. Regarding the firing of GM Mike Mayock by Jim’s beloved Las Vegas Raiders, he admitted to being a little surprised.
  • Tuesday’s Rockstar of the Day for RoxDar Supply Chain Solutions was Derek Dennis. Wednesday’s was Jermain Franklin.
