WEDNESDAY RUNDOWN: HOCKEY PLAYOFFS, MARK STEPHEN & OLYMPIC GOLD

Proving once again that we are the “Golden Corral” of sports talk, Wednesday’s Episode #749 of The RP Show – Daytime Sports & Entertainment Talk – had something for everybody! Read on for the rundown:

  • RP and Moose Dupont got it all going with The Warmup covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) Tuesday NHL leftovers, 2) A preview of Wednesday’s big games including Leafs and Oilers, 3) A CFL Draft recap, 4) The Yankees pound the Blue Jays 9-1 but Aaron Judge warms Canada’s heart, 5) Junior hockey playoff rundown, and 6) Odds & Ends.
  • A timing mix-up had both live guests appearing in Hour 2 so Rod & Moose went deep on the Stanley Cup Playoffs for all of Hour 1, Game 7 in the SJHL and a deeper dive on the CFL Draft.
  • In Hour 2 we had an amazing chat with Duff Gibson, who won Olympic Gold in Turino, Italy in 2006 in Skeleton and became the oldest Canadian to win gold surpassing Al MacInnis. A native Torontonian, Duff immediately launched into a rant over officiating hurting the Blue Jays against New York! Gibson then regaled the viewers with Olympic stories, implored parents NOT to force their childen to specialize in one sport, and promoted his book The Tao Of Sport where he shares his views on the importance of values, priorities and defining success in sport! The book is available on Amazon.
  • Longtime Calgary Stampeders play-by-play man Mark Stephen joined the crew at Grey Eagle Resort & Casino and warned Flames fans not to get ahead of themselves despite a 1-0 lead in their series with Dallas. Mark stayed for two segments and gave the Stamps’ perspective on the Draft and looked ahead to training camps.
  • Tuesday’s Rockstar of the Day for RoxDar Supply Chain Solutions was Reggie Begelton. Wednesday’s was Duff Gibson.
  • See you at 12 pm ET Thursday on Game+ TV, YouTube Live and RodPedersen.com/ListenLive!
