WEDNESDAY RUNDOWN: LOUBARDIAS, LANG & MUCH MORE!

More sports buddies dropped into the RP Show – Daytime Sports & Entertainment Talk – on Wednesday for Episode #727! Here’s the rundown:

• RP and Moose Dupont kicked it off with The Warmup covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) Tuesday NHL leftovers, 2) Rod’s NHL Top 5 are: Colorado, Florida, Carolina, Tampa Bay and Calgary, 3) The Bottom 5 are: Philadelphia, Chicago, Montreal, Seattle and Arizona, 4) NHL GM meetings notes, 5) NFL GM meetings notes, and 6) Raptors & Blue Jays happenings, plus the Pats host the Blades Wednesday night on Access Now TV.
• Calgary Flames radio analyst Peter Loubardias joined us live from the Saddledome to discuss Tuesday’s 2-1 Flames loss to Colorado however Lou preferred to discuss Saturday’s 9-5 beatdown of the Oilers! Pete said Cowtown is still buzzing over that game and couldn’t believe the Flames scored nine even strength goals. The guys looked at the Western Conference playoff race and if the playoffs started today, Calgary would face St. Louis. Lou said that match-up would be concerning. Pete also guaranteed he’ll be in Estevan for at least a portion of the Centennial Cup in May. Bruins radio is “where it all began” for Loubardias.
• The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Should Taylor Hall have been suspended for his sucker punch on Toronto’s Ilya Lyubushkin? (He was fined $5,000). At press time over 60% of respondents said yes.
• In Hour 2 for Great Western Original 16 Beer we were joined by Canada’s foremost NFL expert Jim Lang for a deep dive on the the past week in the NFL. Jim said the Miami Dolphins have served notice they won’t be giving the AFC East away to the Bills, as evidenced by the acquisition of WR Tyreek Hill. Jim also agreed that the AFC West is now the toughest division in the NFL. Regarding the change to the overtime rule, Jim applauded it saying a change was long overdue.
• Tuesday’s Rockstar of the Day ended in a 3-way tie between Scott Laughlin, A.J. Jakubec and Hustler Paterson for the first time ever! Wednesday’s was Peter Loubardias.
