WEDNESDAY RUNDOWN: ROD BLACK CO-HOSTS! BROADHEAD JOINS

It was RodX2 on Wednesday’s Episode #925 of The RP Show – Daytime Sports Talk – on Game+ TV, YouTube Live and WQEE Radio! Here’s the rundown:

• RP and special co-host Rod Black (Moose rejoined in Hour 2) kicked things off with The Warmup and tried to keep things on the rails with these Quick Six show topics: 1) NHL leftovers including Rick Tocchet wins his Canucks debut, 5-2 over Chicago, 2) Rod P.’s NHL Top 5 are BOS – BOS (yes, no mistake) – NJD – TOR – WPG and the Bottom 5 are VAN – ANA – ARZ – CHI – CBJ, 3) How does the Bo Levi signing shakeup the CFL Power Rankings? (We’d get to the Rankings in Hour 2), 4) We gauged viewers’ picks for Sunday’s NFL Conference Championship Games – NFC SF at PHI (-2.5) and AFC CIN (-1.5) at KC, 5) The CHL Top Prospects game goes Wednesday night in Langley, BC, and 6) Randoms including the Raptors and Hawks.
• Rod Black was his funny and engaging self, joining the show for the first 50 minutes from Toronto. He discussed a potential Stanley Cup Final between the Jets and Maple Leafs, poo-poo’ed the idea of neutral site NFL Conference Championship games, and said Bo Levi Mitchell doesn’t seem to be the quarterback he used to be, referring to him as a “game management” quarterback.
• The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was the opening of Round 3 of our NHL Reverse Retro Jersey bracket. Whose jersey is better – Minnesota or Winnipeg? At press time, the Jets were leading with 53% of the vote.
• In Hour 2 Moose Dupont rejoined the show and recapped all of the above topics. Rod got to his CFL Power Rankings and they are: TOR – WPG – CGY – HAM – BC – MTL – SK – EDM – OTT. Many viewers put the Blue Bombers at #1.
• The Voice of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats R.J. Broadhead joined the show and was very excited about the Bo Levi signing. R.J. explained the chemistry on the Ticats Audio Network crew and said they have a lot of fun! In this “new” role for Broadhead, he said he enjoys the affiliation with a team rather than being with a network. As the long-time Voice of the CHL on Sportsnet, R.J. reflected on the many CHL Top Prospects Games he’s called and said the highlight was 2013 featuring Nathan MacKinnon. 
• Tuesday’s Rockstar of the Day was Bernie Nicholls. Wednesday’s was Rod Black!
