BRANDON, Man. – After an early post-season scare, the Brandon Wheat Kings are moving on to the second round of the Western Hockey League playoffs.
Kale Clague had two goals and two assists and Nolan Patrick had a goal and three helpers as Brandon downed the Edmonton Oil Kings 10-3 on Tuesday in Game 6 of its first-round series.
Reid Duke added a pair of goals and an assist for the Wheat Kings, who dropped the first two games of the series on home ice before storming back with four straight wins.
Ivan Provorov, Stelio Mattheos, Garrett Armour, James Shearer and Ty Lewis rounded out the offence for Brandon, which got a 21-save outing from Jordan Papirny.
Edmonton netminder Payton Lee had his work cut out for him. Lee allowed all 10 goals against but faced 67 shots, including 27 alone in the third period.
Brett Pollock, Lane Bauer and Luke Bertolucci found the back of the net for the Oil Kings.
Brandon went 2 for 8 on the power play while Edmonton scored once on four chances with the man advantage.
The Wheat Kings will faceoff against the Moose Jaw Warriors in the Eastern Conference semifinals. Game 1 goes Friday in Brandon.

I wonder who the above posters are because moose jaw has proven goal scorersbest goaltender in the conference they might just give Brandon a run for there money and actually win the series
The difference between Edmonton and Moose Jaw is the speed. Oil kings took penalties cause Brandon was too quick. I can see Warriors in 6.
