A TWIST IN THE JORDAN WILLIAMS-LAMBERT STORY
It may be a case of the tail wagging the dog.
Several media reports suggested Wednesday that star receiver Jordan Williams-Lambert is returning to the Saskatchewan Roughriders after being among the final cuts of the NFL’s Chicago Bears.
However a CFL source has indicated that although the Ball State product was allowed to tryout for a number of NFL teams this winter – ultimately signing with Chicago – via a window granted by the Roughriders, that deal was cut before the CFL’s new Collective Bargaining Agreement was struck in May.
The CFL’s official website announced Williams-Lambert’s return to Riderville – https://www.cfl.ca/2019/09/04/jordan-williams-lambert-returns-riders/ – however the 25-year old receiver disputes that report.
Williams-Lambert posted the words “False News” with the CFL’s pic on his Instagram story.
The 2018 CFL West Division Rookie of the Year is reportedly still seeking an NFL opportunity.
However if he fails to secure a deal, his CFL rights remain property of Saskatchewan and if he plays anywhere in Canada in 2019, it’ll be in the Wheat Province.

I thought the news of his quick return to the Riders felt a little premature.
This makes sense that he would want to wait and see if any other NFL team would like to check out his services.
