WILLY OUT UP TO TWO MONTHS

WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have lost starting quarterback Drew Willy to a serious knee injury.

The team says he has a tibial plateau fracture in his right knee as well as a partial ligament tear.

The Bombers say the recovery time is six to eight weeks.

Willy suffered the injury during Sunday’s game in Hamilton.

He was hurt late in the third quarter after taking a hit from Hamilton linebacker Erik Harris. Willy remained on the field clutching his right knee before walking off with the help of medical personnel.

Brian Brohm replaced Willy as the Bombers went on to lose 38-8.

Tib/Fib plateau fractures can be ugly and many times require surgery. Are they saying that despite this injury, and the PCL tear that he's been deemed non-surgical?

We have to put a streak together and it has to start right after the break . Bombers should go on a losing streak with Willy out so now is our chance to fight for a playoff spot. I feel real bad for Drew Willy as he has been a great Quarterback and you just hate to see another Quarterback go down in the CFL.. I just hope that he recovers well enough to be able to play again.

The Bombers now are officially screwed, much like the Riders when Durant went down! Its more than just about on-field talent – Willy, like Durant was the team leader that gave confidence to the players and therefore the team will suffer.

May be time for teams to put a priority on O line. Ham and Edmtn especially will be knocking out QBs all season. Heavy blitzing is compensating for new rule problems covering receivers for very long. QBs will pay.

Put Tino on the practice roster and let Winnipeg take him.

LOL what happens if the bombers win this week? What would rider nation do if they were shown a team that was able to win a game without their QB? Would they be forced to ask why their team can't win a single game without their QB while other teams play next man up football. Clear honest inward reflection is not something that this team does well

No worries, Winnipeg's astute scouting department and GM will ably find replacement in the interm until the young Drew recovers in record time to take his team into the 2015 playoffs. Tino looks good on riderville, ha ha ha ha.

Dagnabit it all anyways! Now Winnipeg will be the team to get the first over-all draft pick in 2016! Riders just can't get a break.

I guess if the Bombers go on a losing streak they best be firing their coach and GM, right?
