WORTH READING: STAMPS DAY 6 REPORT
Here is the summary of the activity from Day 6 of the Stampeders’ training camp:
Transactions
International LB Brandon Harper (Widener) was added to the roster
Quotable
Defensive lineman Shomari Williams, who enters his sixth season in the CFL and his first with the Stamps:
“Ever since I came into the league, Calgary has always been one of the top organizations in the CFL. So being here is really special and I think if we can just keep the ball rolling from what they had last year – and I can help contribute to that – then we’ll win another Grey Cup.”
Notable
National REC Lemar Durant did not practise in the morning but returned for the afternoon session
National OL Karl Lavoie did not take part in either of Friday’s practice
International DL DeQuin Evans did not practise
Alumni Drop By
A pair of familiar faces were in attendance on Friday. In the morning, former Stamps kicker J.T. Hay dropped in to say hello. In the afternoon, Bob Vespaziani, who coached the Stamps in 1986 and 1987, was on the field to say hello to head coach and general manager John Hufnagel and watch practice.
Meanwhile, former Stamps assistant coach Mike Benevides (2001-02) has asked for and been granted permission to attend camp next week as an observer. Benevides, who was most recently the head coach of the BC Lions, is scheduled to arrive on Sunday.
Saturday’s schedule
The two-a-days at McMahon continue Saturday. The morning session runs from 9:05 a.m. to approximately 11 a.m. while the afternoon practice begins at 4:30 p.m. and ends at approximately 5:55 p.m. Cameras will be permitted to shoot from approximately 9:05 to 9:40 a.m. during morning session and from 4:20 to 4:50 p.m. during afternoon practice.
Nothing about the stumps is worth reading!
That's right. Stay in your bubble with your head in the sand.
Shomari might be right. There's very few that won't agree that Hufnagel runs the best outfit in the league. But Shamari has as much business putting on a Grey Cup ring as I would. He's got to be the biggest underachiever in league history.
Ha ha ha. Stumps are getting desperate with Sh!tmari in camp.
They were raided pretty hard in free agency, much like the Riders after 2013.
Everyone wants more, egos baby!
Stumps 3rd in the west!
