Friday Commentary: Turn Back The Clock

(Listen daily for the RP Commentary on All New Hits 98 & LTD Radio)
A coupla three or more thoughts entering the weekend …
#1 – So glad we didn’t give up on the Blue Jays! Canada’s Team whalloped the Mariners 8-2 in Seattle Thursday night to even up the ALCS at 2-2. 41- year old Jays starter pitcher Max Scherzer turned back the clock, going 5 2/3 innings in getting the win while the Jays’ bats stayed hot.
Here yesterday we talked about Scherzer’s resume. He didn’t let us down.
On we go to Game 5 tonight and it feels like the whole country is watching.
#2 – Week 20 in the CFL kicks off tonight at Winnipeg, with the Roughriders playing a meaningless game against the host Blue Bombers, whom are in must-win mode. That’s an easy choice for the bettors.
Winnipeg’s the site of the Grey Cup next month and the CFL announced Thursday night that Machine Gun Kelly will be the halftime act for the league’s championship game.
Not my first choice, but I’m quite certain they’re not concerned with my musical tastes.
#3 – Always looking on the bright side. It really is the only way to go! Frankly I was watching hockey most of Thursday night so I completely missed the NFL’s Thursday Night Game which was affectionately dubbed the “Icy Hot Bowl” between Aaron Rodgers’ Pittsburgh Steelers and Joe Flacco’s Cincinnati Bengals. (Both quarterbacks are in their 40s).
Flacco turned back the clock, throwing three touchdowns in the Bengals’ 33-31 win, thus rekindling the hopes of the Cincinnati franchise with veteran QB Joe Burrow out longterm.
There’s so much going on that it feels nearly impossible to keep on top of! That’s a great thing for a guy like me.
That’s today’s Rod Pedersen Commentary.
