Tuesday Commentary: It’s Only Money

(Listen daily for the RP Commentary on All New Hits 98 & LTD Radio)
It’s Tuesday and time for the Good, the Great & the Ugly!
First the good: There’s always something. Play begins in earnest this weekend in the World Baseball Classic. Canada is in Pool A and begins play on Saturday. Team USA is led by Yankees star Aaron Judge, and their first game is Friday in Houston.
The entire Blue Jays infield is sprinkled across WBC rosters including Vlady, who’s on a stacked Dominican Republic squad which includes Juan Soto and Fernando Tatis Jr.
Of course the championship final is at Miami’s LoanDepot Park and I’m thinking of going! It’s only money after all.
Next the great: The NHL Trade Deadline is Friday at 3pm ET. Are you stick of the buzz yet?
I am not, although I’ll also be glad when it’s over. Teams like Calgary and St. Louis have already waved the white flag and before long, I’m told, Winnipeg will too.
But it’s fascinating to see the teams whom are fighting till the bitter end, refusing to give up hope and that includes the Florida Panthers, in my backyard.
They’ve got a couple of games left – including tonight in New Jersey – before they decide whether to be sellers or not.
Man it’s fun to cover!
And finally the ugly: Every time I open the Twitter app, I see some sort of war going on, or just outright bitching. I’m not going to name names but I’m stunned at who I see rolling around in the mud like pigs. I’ll name a few names – because I don’t know them – but the online spat between ESPN’s Linda Cohn and former anchor Keith Olberman seems to have gotten people talking the most. But kudos to Linda, who quashed the squabble with a Hulk Hogan-like elbow smash from the top rope.
Otherwise my jaw is on the floor when I see the others going at each other’s throats, over the silliest of things.
I also notice … who’s not in the Twitter wars.
That’s today’s Rod Pedersen Commentary.

I couldn’t be bothered to follow any Twitter or Instagram. It’s either someone trying to be controversial, usually in a negative way, to get reactions or “anonymous”, “brave without my name” posters. I do like opinions and discussions. So who I read daily is a pretty short list.
