REGINA SELLS OUT "LETTERKENNY", TWICE!

Apparently Regina loves it some Letterkenny.

Stars of the hit CraveTV series performed two soldout shows at the Casino Regina Show Lounge on Thursday evening. Show creator and star Jared Keeso repeatedly told the crowd that Regina was the “fastest sellout” on their Canadian tour which began on February 27 in Halifax.

Not familiar with “LETTERKENNY”? Check out the synopsis from the show’s Wikipedia page:

“Letterkenny revolves around the antics of the residents of a small rural Canadian community called Letterkenny.

Expanding the cast from the web series, the series focuses on Wayne and Katy (created for the TV series), siblings who run a small farm and produce stand, with help from Wayne’s two friends: Daryl and “Squirrely” Dan (created for the TV series). It also focuses on a pair of local hockey players (Reily and Jonesy) who are involved in a polyamorous relationship with Katy.”

While the entire cast wasn’t present, the capacity crowds of 716 in the Show Lounge were thoroughly entertained by Keeso (aka Wayne), Nathan Dales (aka Daryl) and their neighbour “Squirrely Dan”.

The nearly 2-hour performance also featured sets by two Canadian comedians.

Some show-goers complained about the fact the entire TV cast wasn’t part of the show, and that they didn’t pay to see the comics.

Pshaw. The production was rip-roaringly funny and aside from humour that would make even a hardened hockey coach blush, the show gets two thumbs up from the Monday Morning Goalie.

Perhaps the most surprising part was the “local flavour” the actors injected into the show, including commentary on the Saskatchewan Roughriders and scathing jokes about rival Winnipeg! Clearly they did their homework.

Next up on the tour are two shows in Calgary on Friday followed by two more in Edmonton on Saturday. The expedition ends on April 6 in Surrey, BC.
