ANOTHER PATS WIN, 6-3 AT KOOTENAY

CRANBROOK – The Regina Pats kicked off their four game road trip with a 6-3 win in Cranbrook B.C. over the Kootenay ICE on Tuesday.

Josh Mahura got the Pats on the board early with his fourth of the year, but 19 seconds later Brett Davis tied it for the ICE. Regina responded with goals from Matt Bradley (12) and Bryce Platt (3) on a penalty shot to lead 3-1 at the first break.

In the second, George King (5), Robbie Holmes (1) and Josh Mahura (5) gave Regina a 6-1 advantage on the road.

In the final period, Kootenay got two back with the powerplay, but the Pats held on for the 6-3 victory and improved to 7-3-0-0 in the month of October.

Regina outshot the ICE 39-26, the powerplay was one for two and the penalty kill five for seven.

Sam Steel, Josh Mahura, Emil Oksanen and Bryce Platt each had two point nights, while Tyler Brown made 23 saves for his seventh win of the year.

The Pats (8-5-1) are back in action on Wednesday night in Lethbridge against the Hurricanes at 7 p.m. on 620 CKRM.  Next home game is Tuesday November 1st against the ICE.
