QB HEAPS LEAVES RIDERS FOR SEAHAWKS

Heaps in camp with the Riders last week

Backup quarterback Jake Heaps has re-signed with the Seattle Seahawks. The Seattle Times reported that Heaps announced the move on social media on Monday.

The move comes less than a week after Heaps participated in a minicamp with the CFL’s Saskatchewan Roughriders in Florida.

The 25-year-old out of Issaquah, was on the Seahawks roster during the off-season last year and was part of Seattle’s practice squad in 2016. He was also on the Jets roster between May and August of 2015.

Heaps guided Skyline High School to 4A Washington state titles in 2008 and 2009. He was the top rated quarterback prospect coming out of high school, before playing at BYU, Kansas and the University of Miami.
