Eberle has three goals in his last three games after ending an 18-game goalless drought. The streaking Oilers are 5-0-and-1 in their last six games.

Another win for the Ottawa Senators. They won for the fifth time in the last six games with a 3-2 shootout victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs. Tom Pyatt scored the shootout winner. In Montreal, it was the Sabres edging the Habs 3-2 in overtime. Zach Bogosian scored the winner. And the Jets topped St. Louis 5-3.

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay has fired general manager Ryan Grigson after five seasons.
Grigson spent tens of millions in free agency after the 2014 season, but the Colts have missed the playoffs in consecutive years for the first time since 1997-98. He selected quarterback Andrew Luck, tight ends Coby Fleener and Dwayne Allen and receiver T.Y. Hilton with the Colts’ top four picks in his draft as GM. However, his poor decisions include choosing first-round bust Bjoern Werner in 2013, one year before trading a first-round pick for Trent Richardson.

The Green Bay Packers have the historic edge heading into their NFC title game against the Falcons in Atlanta. The Falcons have played in just one Super Bowl in 51 years while Green Bay has four Super Bowl victories. The winner of the afternoon matchup will meet the AFC champion for the Vince Lombardi Trophy on February 5th in Houston.

The AFC championship and a spot in the Super Bowl is on the line as New England hosts the Pittsburgh Steelers tonight. Ben Roethlisberger hasn’t faced New England in a playoff game since the AFC title match in 2005, when the Steelers Q-B was still a rookie. Pittsburgh lost that game and is 1-3 against the Patriots in four post-season meetings.

A round to remember for Canadian Adam Hadwin. The Abbotsford, B-C resident shot a 13-under 59 at the CareerBuilder Challenge, making him the ninth golfer in PGA Tour history with a sub-60 round. He’s the first Canadian to accomplish the feat and the first player to do it on a par-72 course since David Duval.

Kawhi Leonard scored a career-high 41 points and the San Antonio Spurs beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 118-115 in overtime. LaMarcus Aldridge had 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Spurs, who were missing starters Tony Parker and Pau Gasol (pow gah-SOHL’). LeBron James and Kyrie Irving scored 29 apiece for the Cavs.
