The Calgary Flames have snapped Vancouver’s six-game winning streak. Matt Stajan’s goal late in the first period held up as the winner as the Flames topped Vancouver 3-1 in the second game of a home-and-home series between the teams. Calgary’s Matthew Tkachuk had an assist to extend his point streak to nine games.

Nikita Scherbak’s NHL debut was a memorable one. The Canadiens rookie scored his first career goal to help Montreal down the Maple Leafs 5-3 at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre. Carey Price stopped 33 shots to pick up his 20th win of the season. The win was Montreal’s 13th straight against the Leafs.

The Ottawa Senators extended their losing skid to four straight games. Braden Holtby stopped all 30 shots he faced as the Capitals topped Ottawa 1-0. Mark Letestu scored in overtime as Edmonton topped the Devils 2-1. And the Winnipeg Jets fell 4-3 to Buffalo. Rookie Patrik Laine had to leave the game after taking an open-ice hit from Jake McCabe.

The Toronto Raptors couldn’t hold on to a big lead. Jimmy Butler scored 42 points, and the Chicago Bulls overcame a 19-point deficit to beat Toronto 123-118 in overtime. Butler led a big run in the fourth quarter and hit a three-pointer with 17.3 seconds left in overtime for a five-point lead. DeMar DeRozan led the Raptors with 36 points.

Russell Westbrook had 32 points, 17 rebounds and 11 assists for his 17th triple-double of the season as the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Denver Nuggets 121-106. Westbrook made seven 3-pointers after hitting a career-high eight Thursday at Houston. He also matched his season high in rebounds with the 54th triple-double of his career.

The Seattle Seahawks are moving on. Seattle won its 10th straight home playoff game, 26-6 over the Detroit Lions in tonight’s NFC wild-card game. Thomas Rawls rushed for a franchise playoff-record 161 yards. Earlier, Brock Osweiler threw for a touchdown and ran for another as Houston downed the Raiders 27-14 in an AFC wild-card game.
