PATS SLIP IN NATIONAL RANKINGS
The Canadian Hockey League announced on Tuesday the week ten edition of the CHL Top-10 Rankings for the 2016-17 season. The weekly rankings of the CHL’s Top-10 teams are selected by a panel of National Hockey League scouts.
The Prince George Cougars not only dethroned the Regina Pats in Tuesday action, they pounced ahead of them in the CHL Top 10, taking over the No. 1 spot this week. Winners of four consecutive games, the Cougars have spent nine straight weeks in the CHL Top 10.
While the Pats’ were finally handed regulation losses by both the Victoria Royals and Cougars, there’s still no question they’re one of the top teams in the country early in the 2016-17 campaign. They slide in behind the Cougars as the second seed this week and have also spent nine weeks within the rankings.
Joining the Cougars and Pats in the CHL Top 10 are the Everett Silvertips, sliding from third to seventh this week. Finally, the Medicine Hat Tigers hold strong in ninth while the Moose Jaw Warriors garnered another honourable mention.

Wowee ! Memorial Cup Champions drop in Rankings and only after 20 some games into the season. I guess someone was right when they said the only way the Pats would contend for the Cup would be if they were the Hosts.
Sea Dogs will win the Memorial Cup this season.

No need to upgrade goaltending….if we score 6-8 goals a game we will win our share
The last comment is laughable and obviously from someone who doesn't know mud from fat meat. No team will score 6 goals a game consistently. The Pats can't play in rugged tough games and you can't win a championship run-and-gun. If they can't do a better job of keeping the pucks out of their net, they will be gone in the first round of the playoffs. They have talent but little grit. Far too many weak goals against. They need help.

As it stands, the Pats have a really good team. Technically, they do not need to do anything. If their goal was to build a good team, mission accomplished. Very well done. John Paddock and the rest of the organization have done a great job since the new ownership took over. However, it's important to identify what that ultimate goal is. If the ultimate goal is to have another long playoff run, they probably don't need to change anything other than tighten up team defense.
