John Gibson made 33 saves and four different Ducks found the back of the net as Anaheim topped the Edmonton Oilers 4-1 to hand them their fourth straight loss. Ryan Kesler, Cam Fowler, Nick Ritchie and Antoine Vermette scored for Anaheim, and Corey Perry had two assists to take the team lead with 15 points.

Kevin Hayes and J-T Miller had two goals apiece, and Henrik Lundqvist made 36 saves as the New York Rangers downed the Vancouver Canucks 7-2. Mats Zuccarello, Brandon Pirri and Nick Holden also scored for New York, which has won three straight, and eight of its last nine.

Patrick Laine continues to soar. The Jets rookie scored his league-leading 12th goal of the season as Winnipeg blanked the Chicago Blackhawks 4-0. Rookie defenceman Josh Morrissey scored his first NHL goal for the Jets, while Chris Thorburn and Nic Petan earned their first goals of the season. Connor Hellebuyck made 27 saves.

The Calgary Flames’ four-game losing skid is over. Johnny Gaudreau’s goal early in the first period held up and Chad Johnson stopped 27 shots as Calgary slipped past the Minnesota Wild with a 1-0 victory. It was the Flames’ first shutout of the season.

The Toronto Maple Leafs continue to dominate on home ice. They improved to 6-2 at Air Canada Centre with a 6-2 win over Nashville. James van Riemsdyk had a hat trick and an assist. Elsewhere, the Montreal Canadiens fell 4-3 to Florida in overtime for their first home loss of the year. And Ottawa topped Philadelphia 3-2 in a shootout.

DeMar DeRozan failed to score 30 points for just the second time this season as Toronto fell 121-117 to the Cavaliers in Cleveland. LeBron James had 28 points and 14 assists for the Cavs, who improved to 9-1 to match their best start in franchise history after 10 games. Kyle Lowry led the Raptors with 28 points while DeRozan finished with 26.
