Regina – Sam Steel scored twice in his season debut and the Pats improved to 2-0-1-0 on the year with a 6-3 win at the Brandt Centre Friday over the Edmonton Oil Kings.
Riley Woods, Filip Ahl, Rykr Cole and Sergey Zborovskiy each had two point nights in the win while Jordan Hollett made 34 saves.
The Pats led 3-1 early in the 2nd but the Oil Kings battled back to tied it up.
However the Regina powerplay gave them the lead for good midway through the second on Filip Ahl’s first career goal.
Tyler Robertson led the Oil Kings with two assists while goaltender Patrick Dea made 36 saves in the defeat.

Its gonna be a Super year for the Man of Steel!
The additions of Steel, Hobbs and Zbrobski (spelling?) incredible difference from a week ago.
Lots of promise this year that is for sure. When Wagner, and if Brooks, comes back we will have huge offensive potential with 3 lines of scoring threats. Just hoping our D can hold thier own. A number of D lapses last night coupled with great Oil Kings tending kept the outcome up in the air until well into the 3rd period. Really looking forward to the games this year as always. Going to be exciting!
