THE KEG RECAP: RAIDERS 4 PATS 3 (OT)
REGINA – The Regina Pats outshot the Prince Albert Raiders 45-30 on Friday night but lost their home opener 4-3 in overtime.
Ian Scott made 43 saves in the win while Simon Stransky scored twice including the overtime winner. The Pats were led by Chase Harrison who had a goal and an assist. Braydon Buziak scored his first career WHL goal and Dawson Leedahl and Filip Ahl both recorded their first points in a Pats uniform.
Tyler Brown made 26 saves in the loss.

It was a very plucky effort by the Raiders. The Pats had a terrific first period but weren't that good after that. Scott was outstanding in goal and that was the main difference, goaltending. Both teams were missing about five key players so it wasn't the just the Pats who were shorthanded. That appeared to be somewhat lost on the colour guy last night. The Raiders were full marks for finding a way to win they should not have won.
I was at the game. I was telling the 5 guys I attended with how nice it was to sit and watch a game with no reviews. Not many whistles either, it was a great change from CFL this year.
Raiders beat the memorial cup Champs…awesome
True, but the Pats top 5 NHL drafted prospects weren't playing this weekend and they out shot PA without them anyways. PA should fold their franchise if they couldn't beat Pats this weekend.
