PATS 5 TIGERS 4 (OT)

Regina, SK  – The Regina Pats got two goals from both Austin Wagner and Sam Steel to win a back and forth affair with the Medicine Hat Tigers on Saturday night, 5-4 in overtime in the Brandt Centre.

The Pats led 1-0, 2-1, 3-2 and 4-3 but each time they took the lead, the Tigers responded with the game-tieing goal. Sam Steel scored the game winner, in overtime, tipping in a Connor Hobbs point shot on the powerplay.  Beyond Steel and Wagner’s two goal nights, the Pats got three assists from Adam Brooks in his pre-season debut and two helpers from Riley Woods to improve to 3-2-0-0 in the pre-season.

What’s Next?
The Regina Pats will play a neutral site, 3 on 3 game, on the Ochapowace First Nation, Wednesday afternoon against the Brandon Wheat Kings at 1:30 p.m.. The two teams will meet again in Brandon on Friday before the Pats wrap up the pre-season on Saturday at home to the Wheat Kings at the Co-operators Arena.

Who played goal for the Pats?

Tyler Brown was in goal.Really excited for the Team this year especially if Brooks is a returnee. He looked bigger and faster last night if that's possible, and Wagner is up to his same old tricks…getting goals but missing opportunities on break aways…lol.Our goaltending is really solid and it's just a matter of our defense coming thru. Was a little lax last night with a few giveaways that cost them.
