Edmonton Sun

EDMONTON (CP) – John Quenneville scored two goals and set up another and Jordan Papirny turned aside all 15 shots he faced as the Brandon Wheat Kings blanked the Edmonton Oil Kings 5-0 Thursday evening to even their first-round Western Hockey League playoff series at two games apiece.

Reid Duke and Kale Clague each had a goal and an assist for the Wheat Kings and Jayce Hawryluk rounded out the attack.

Edmonton goaltender Payton Lee stopped 31 shots in the losing effort.

Brandon was 2 for 8 on the power play while the Oil Kings failed to take advantage of five opportunities with the man advantage.

Game 5 goes Sunday in Edmonton.

Regina are in the bracket that plays the winner of Red Deer and Calgary. Bdn are in the bracket to play the winner of MJ and PA. The winner of those two series play each other in the conference finals….
