RIDERS RELEASE DOUGHTY AND EARLY
The Saskatchewan Roughriders have announced the release of international linebacker Jake Doughty and international punter Ray Early.
Doughty played seven games in his only season with the Riders collecting 30 defensive tackles and three special teams tackles.
Early dressed for all 18 games in 2015 carrying a 45-yard average on 110 punts for 4,955 yards.

Classless move by Chris Jones to release players on day 2 of free agency. He could've done this last week.
We signed Cdn punter Josh Bartel.
Maybe the Riders will look for a Cdn punter in the draft???
Replacing LB Doughty with Toronto LB and East All-Star Greg Jones… finally a deal that makes sense…

Someone at Tim Hortons this afternoon in Harbour Landing saw Jon Ryan. Apparently, he might become the new punter and holder on field goals since Dressler used to do that job. Wow! Suspense is getting interesting.

Assuming the Jon Ryan sighting was just sarcasim, his mom lives in Regina and he had a speaking engagement on Feb 6. Although he is a free agent I cant image one of his options is to sign with a CFL team.
