RIDERS ADD QB AND LINEMAN

The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced today international quarterback BJ Coleman and international offensive lineman Quinterrius Eatmon have signed with the team. As per club policy, details of the contracts were not released.

Coleman (6’3 – 231) spent two seasons with the Green Bay Packers after being selected by the team in seventh round (243rd overall) in the 2012 NFL Draft. The Tennessee native spent his rookie campaign on the Packers practice roster after attending training camp and playing four preseason games. He returned to the team for 2013, seeing action in three preseason games.

Last season, Coleman played with the Arena Football League’s Arizona Rattlers where he was named AFL Player of the Week following a week seven performance.

Eatmon (6’6 – 310) joins the Riders after attending training camp with Oakland Raiders last season, playing two preseason games. The Prichard, Alabama native originally signed with the team as an undrafted free agent in May, 2015.

Before going pro, Eatmon spent four seasons at South Florida playing 47 career collegiate games.

Another american OL – just what the Riders need. I wonder if Jones and Murphy will ever fiqure it out that what the CFL is build on is Canadian OL. I doubt it, not too swift those two.

And lets not forget the soon to be 28 year old Qb who has never played in the CFl. AS it usually takes 3 years for a american QB to learn the cfl – well just think he will be just right for retirement when he learns the CFL

What a joke Jones and Murphy are.

Dear Jones/Murphy/O'Day hater:

You became tiresome a few weeks ago. Time to move on and turn your thoughts to more positive emotions. Your ongoing campaign on this comment section is totally pointless. There has to be more productive ways to spend your time, yes? Put your energy into getting better marks at school.

Eskimo fans like Coleman’s first name.

It’s what they’d do to get Jones back as their HC

Wow the comments section is becoming even more irrelevant. Too bad Roddy needs the revenue from this blog to maintain his lifestyle.

No kidding. Big fancy house, beautiful wife, trips to Vegas Arizona and Dominican, slick designer suits, first name basis with A-list celebriities, you name it. But hey, wouldn't mind that lifestyle at all.

People will still read the blog even if the comments section is shut down permanently. Which would be a good thing. People are assholes. Look at Danny getting the coaching job in Miami and he gets raked over the coals. Guaranteed those losers would never say those things to his face. It's stupidity.

A good OL is very important, National or international. The QB must be protected and they haven't been for the last several years so obviously upgrades are needed. As far as a 28 year old QB, look at AC and Burris. Pull your head out of your ass, you are breathing in too many of your own fumes

Rod could still enjoy his lifestyle without a comments section. The upside he would gain some respect and integrity with the Rider Nation.

Haters are losers. They are the inexperienced group who seem to think money grows on trees and every old player we have has the right to sign for big money. They are too stupid to understand economics and have grown accustomed to the Hopson/Taman style of player signing. Jones put togrthert a team that won the Grey Cup, and we on the other hand sucked the big one at 3-15. His players played in the Grey Cup while ours worked out at their gym. Winnipeg is as bad or worse than we were and this year they will still suck.… Read more »

Quarterback BJ Coleman has a strange background:

– Left U of Tennessee to go to smaller Tennessee school – why?
– Left football from the Arena League all together – why? Was getting out of football?
– Was suspended from the Arena League.

Not a great story, but already it seems there are questions regarding commitment and long-term viability.
