DANNY MAKES IT TO “THE LEAGUE”

MIAMI (AP) – Former CFL quarterback and coach Danny Barrett has been hired as the Miami Dolphins running backs coach by new coach Adam Gase.

Barrett is from South Florida and spent the past five seasons as an assistant at the University of Central Florida. He was quarterbacks coach in 2015 and became the interim head coach when George O’Leary retired eight games into the season. The Knights then lost their final four games to finish 0-12.

Barrett played in the CFL for 15 years for Calgary, Toronto, British Columbia and Ottawa. He coached the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2000-06 and reached the playoffs five years in a row.

Perfect position for him to coach. The 2 basics of being a rb coach are to 1) make sure your players know their assignment, and 2) don’t over coach them

He's the only guy I ever heard of in professional sports that thought being .500 made you a winner.

Any coach who would choose Nealon instead of Henry, is not a good coach and if he HAD to play Nealon over Henry because of Roy insisting on it, he was not the REAL head coach! Mediocre is his only claim in the coaching ranks!

Who said you can't go o-fer and get a promotion! Has never accomplished anything at any coaching level and still stays employed. An some goof on this blog posted bad coaches don't get hired. Hilarious! Yup and get your money from the government cause it's not like anyone has to pay for it…
