Reimer made 43 saves in his seventh consecutive start as the Leafs beat Vancouver 4-2 at Air Canada Centre. James van Riemsdyk, P-A Parenteau, Shawn Matthias and Joffrey Lupul scored for Toronto.

Nathan MacKinnon scored goals 13 seconds apart in a three-goal Colorado first period and the Avalanche jumped on a shaky Mike Condon to defeat the Montreal Canadiens 6-1. Mikhail Grigorenko also scored a goal and set up both of MacKinnon’s markers as Avs coach Patrick Roy was victorious in a return to the Bell Centre

MMA
History was made in Regina Saturday night.  Saturday Night Fights 10 was the first-ever professional MMA show in Regina’s history.  In the main event before a soldout crowd of 1200 at the Conexus Art Centre, Regina product Miles Anstead returned to his hometown from Edmonton and scored a first round knockout of Yorkton’s Aaron Schmyr.

Other winners were Winnipeg’s Travis Gervais, Regina’s Matt Fedler, Saskatoon’s Blair Turnquist, Regina’s Adam Wayne and Lethbridge’s Tom O’Connor.

Meanwhile in UFC 193 in Melbourne, Australia, Holly Holm pulled off a stunning upset victory over Ronda Rousey, knocking out the women’s bantamweight champion in the second round with a powerful kick to the head Sunday.
The fight started at a frenetic pace with Holm landing some powerful shots to the unbeaten Rousey’s head, leaving the frustrated champion with a bloodied nose at the end of the first round.
Rousey attempted to dominate the second round, pushing Holm around the ring until the challenger snapped a massive kick to the head that instantly dropped her opponent to the canvas.
Holm dove on the prone Rousey, delivering several blows to her head before the referee intervened. An ecstatic Hold jumped around the ring as Rousey received medical treatment.
