PATS READY TO HOST WARRIORS IN “PINK” GAME

The Regina Pats are ready to host their annual ‘Paint the Rink Pink’ night this Friday.  The Pats play host to the Moose Jaw Warriors at 7 p.m. in the first game of a home and home.

This is the team’s eleventh year ‘Funding the Fight’ against breast cancer.  Tomorrow night’s fundraising efforts go to breast cancer research through the Canadian Cancer Society.  Fans attending the game will notice all the rink board advertisements and glass stanchions have gone pink.  Thanks to game sponsor Imagination Ink and all of our rink board sponsors for making this possible.  Regina Pats players will wear pink tape and laces.

Fans can help in the Pats efforts to ‘Paint the Rink Pink’ by filling out an ‘I Fight For’ poster.  With a $2 donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, fans can show their support for someone currently fighting cancer, in recovery or remember someone who passed away.  The posters will hang on the facing of the upper deck with the goal of creating a pink ribbon around the arena.

In addition to the ‘I Fight For’ posters, the Pats will raffle off a game worn red Daniel Wapple jersey with all the proceeds donated to the Canadian Cancer Society.  A $10 donation gets fans ten tickets for the draw.  The Canadian Cancer Society will also be set up on the concourse fundraising with a merchandise table.  Fans are also able to simply make a donation to the cancer society which will go directly to breast cancer research.

As in past seasons, the Blue and White will honour a group of breast cancer survivors at centre ice prior to puck drop.  Friday’s rendition of the national anthem will have the Brandt Centre rocking as Gordie Johnson from Canadian rock group ‘Big Sugar’ will perform O Canada to kick the night off.

Tickets for Friday’s game are available at Ticketmaster.ca, the Brandt Centre Box Office and Safeway locations throughout Regina.

How great was it to see Brandon Davidson score the goal tonight in the Oiler's defeat of the Mighty Habitants!! I am sure I heard the Scuff Dog howling in east Regina when the goal went in.

Congratulations to the entire Pats organization for once again getting behind this cause. I love going to the rink and seeing all the creative initiatives the Pats staff implement each year. From Pink sticks to Pink ice, Pink toques to Pink jerseys and the Pats Pink Alumni honorees. I hope the fans show up and support the home team in "Funding the fight" tonight versus Moose Jaw.
