PRESEASON: RAIDERS 4 PATS 1

Prince Albert, SK – The Prince Albert Raiders picked up their second-straight win, beating the Regina Pats 4-1 to sweep the home-and-home preseason set on Friday evening at the Art Hauser Centre.

More than doubling the Pats in shots, the Raiders had to wait until the third period to seize their first lead of the contest. Prince Albert put the game out of reach with five minutes left in the third period as the home side cashed in twice on the power play.

Jesse Lees (1g-1a), Simon Stransky (1g-1a) and Reid Gardiner (2a) each collected two points to pace the Raiders. Austin Glover and Tim Vanstone also scored in the victory.

Erik Gardiner tallied the only goal of the night for Regina, assists by Adam Brooks.

Raiders’ netminder Ian Scott played all 60 minutes for the first time in the pre-season and stopped 20 of 21 attempts.

The Pats goaltending duties were split between Jordan Hollett and Tyler Brown. Hollett made 20 saves on 21 shots, while Brown turned away 19 of 22 shots.

The Raiders outshot the Pats 43-21. Prince Albert went 3-for-6 on the power play, while Regina was 0-for-4.

Prince Albert wraps up the pre-season with a 2-4-0 record, while Regina finishes at 1-6-0.

No problem here as Regina will sport many losing teams, why should the Pats be the exception?
