SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. (CP) –  It wasn’t the post-Christmas start the Regina Pats were looking for. Carter Rigby had a goal and three assists as the Broncos slipped past Regina 5-3 Saturday evening in Swift Current.

Colby Cave struck twice for Swift Current (18-14-4), with Jay Merkley and Jake DeBrusk rounding out the attack.

Kyle Burroughs, Adam Brooks and Connor Gay scored for the Pats (20-12-2) who outshot the Broncos 43-32.  Tyler Brown took the loss in the Regina goal making 27 saves.

The Pats led 2-1 after the first period but trailed 4-2 going into the third.  Regina was 0/2 on the powerplay and 1/2 killing penalties.

The Pats host the Broncos Sunday at 6 pm on 620 CKRM (Press Box Sports Bar Pregame Show at 5:35 pm).
