ESKIMOS NAME NICHOLS STARTER

(Edmonton) – Eskimo quarterback Mike Reilly is progressing well from an injury sustained on November 1 in Edmonton’s win over the BC Lions. He is expected to practice this week and be available to play in Sunday’s Western Semi-Final against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Head Coach Chris Jones has named Matt Nichols the starting quarterback as Reilly’s progress continues to be monitored.

This means nothing. Head games all around!! Nichols will execute the first two handoffs and Reilly will be in after that.

It doesn't matter one way or another. If we don't get at least 200 yards rushing, we will not win regardless of whether Joseph or Durant are in the game.

You know those guys and gals, known as the Irritating Saskatchewan Rrs fans. Sorry, that's redundant, the Saskatchewan Rrs fanbase. Loud, obnoxious, usually inebriated somehow managing to brag about their team winning a dominant 4 championship's In just over a century, yeah those people. The Saskatchewan Rrs say they have fantastic fan's, even if they are horrible human beings. Some of them will be coming to Edmonton this weekend, City of Champions and they'll all be leaving with tears in their red bleary eye's after the evisceration of their team in all facets of game play and the scoreboard by… Read more »

Self Proclaimed city of champs! Its like giving yourself your own nick name. You are the only one that knows you by that name. And what have you actually championed lately? OH look the Esks finaly had a winning season first one in how long? And dont even get me started on the Oilers, Flames have already passed the oilers in the rebuild race and they only started rebuilding less than 2 years ago, How long have the oilers been rebuilding? Since Pronger left. LOL. So keep on hating, I imagine after the Riders win on Sunday you will be… Read more »

I have never heard a Rider fan ever brag about 4 Gey cups in 100 years because its nothing to brag about. Last years Cup, bragging rights earned. You haters keep living in the past, because you got no new material. I will continue to look forward to many more years of Playoff football. Oh ya welcome back to the playoffs Edmonton feels good doesnt it?

Hey rider fans speaking of self proclaimed names the lowly riders game themselves the nick name Canada's team only in your own lil mind you are definitely NOT Canada's team don't make the whole country puke the only reason why the riders get support in other cities is ONLY because in the 80s and 90s when the economy was bad here everyone else left Saskatchewan to others provinces that's the only reason and if you were the greatest fans you say you are they never would have had a telethon to ring those phones to save the riders so give… Read more »

The who are the greatest fans then? Calgary Edmonton I don't think so lol! Winnipeg certainly has good fans, but when you go to Calgary or Edmonton and see the sea of green you have to give it to Saskatchewan.

Eskimos use to have great fans. They use to have 50,000+ at Commonwealth. Now, they are lucky to get about 30,000 and only go way over when the Riders come to town. And now they are begging Rider fans to buy tickets cause they can't sell enough to their own. We are Canada's Team as in every ball park you see lots of Rider fans, not a couple here and there like other teams. And we travel to go watch our team as we love them that much and want to show our support. Not much support in Edm. You… Read more »

Oh yes all the Rider left SASK in the 80s and 90s and that is why there are Rider fans thru out the country. Wow. that is some logic. We may have had to have a telethon but when they did, most of the province stepped up and delivered big time, and those days are long gone. 3rd in sales only to the Habs and Leafs. More sales than all the other CFL teams combined. Those numbers speak for themselves. Like I said before haters bring up the past because you got no new material. Do people still rag on Edmonton… Read more »
