REGINA — Pats fans got a little extra bang for their buck Wednesday evening at the Cooperators Arena.  Calder Brooks’ even strength goal at 3:35 of overtime sent the P.A. Raiders to a 4-3 preseason victory over the hometown Regina Pats, dropping Regina’s preseason record to 4-2.

In another tight exhibition game, the score was tied 1-1 after the first 20 and 40 minutes and 3-3 after regulation time.  Connor Gay, Luc Smith and Patrick D’Amico scored for Regina while Tyler Fuhr took the loss in goal, playing the entire game and stopping 27 of 31 shots.  Rookie phenom Sam Steel suited up for the Pats but was held off the scoresheet and was +1.

Rylan Parenteau got the win in goal for the Raiders who are now 2-2-0-1 in preseason play.  P.A. outshot the Queen City Kids 31-28.  Regina was 1/3 on the powerplay and 4/4 killing penalties.

The Pats conclude the 2014 WHL preseason Friday evening at Prince Albert.
