CHICK & BAGG EARN PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

TORONTO – B.C. running back Stefan Logan was named CFL offensive player of the week Tuesday after rushing for a career-high 145 yards and scoring a touchdown in the Lions’ 33-17 victory over Toronto.

Logan, who averaged 7.6 yards per carry, also caught five passes for 49 yards in last week’s win at Rogers Centre.

Teammate Tim Brown took the special teams honour after recording 249 return yards. He returned 10 punts for 169 yards and three kickoffs for 80 yards.

Saskatchewan defensive end John Chick was named defensive player of the week and Roughriders wide receiver Rob Bagg was top Canadian.

Chick had three sacks in the Roughriders’ 16-11 win over the visiting Alouettes. He had four tackles and a forced fumble to take the honour for the second straight week.

Bagg, a native of Kingston, Ont., caught six passes for 90 yards and scored a 30-yard touchdown.

Nice to see a couple Riders get the nod. If we continue to play the way we have the last coule weeks. It will be interesting to see how many awards we dont win after the game on Sunday at BC Place Stadium. More than likely we will have our ass handed to us on a silver platter. BC is playing far superior on offence and about as good as SK on defence. Darian's one hoppers are really going to stand out.

I fully expect to see a victory in BC. We have an overall better team.
Just because the offense wasn't clicking in a particular game doesn't mean it can't click. Every game is different, every game requires a different strategy.

Stop worrying, worrying won't change anything anyway.

Today on the cage I heard you tell us how stupid we are today. If your glasses are so green that you can't see how much this team has regressed then you had better take off your glasses. Why do you think it's your God given right to depracate the fans when you don't have the guts to question anyone on the team?

Actually it was Scruffy. He said he can't stand how stupid everyone is being. He was making a dumb voice when he was imitating what people are saying to him. "" something to the effect of we are only winning because of the poor teams we are playing. He then went on to say if we lose in BC everyone is going to say. SEE WE TOLD YOU SO. He also went on to say I hope we win and it just shuts everybody up. So I can understand why someone would feel they were called stupid. I hope we… Read more »

Because a blind man could see that the Riders need fixing and you keep telling everyone that expresses any concern that they're out to lunch. That's why!

I have no doubt you didn't call them stupid Rod, but you should have, cause the haters ARE being stupid. WE'RE 5-2 PEOPLE. Relax! Yeash, you guys need to find something else to rag on. We have the best, most durable QB in the league, and the best defense. Every team in this league has looked questionable at times, look at Edmonton last week against Ottawa. B.C was in a dog fight through 3 quarters against Toronto. They didnt do much till some big plays in the fourth.

Haters gone hate I guess.

How many people in Seattle do you think were saying "man our offense is awful" last year. Not many. They're all thinking "wow our defense is phenomenal." Defences win championships. Our defence is killing it this year and our offence is scoring enough to win.

Scruffy is 100% right, there are more than a few idiot fans out there, always have been and there are these elements in every CFL market – WIN OR LOSE. It is also a fact that as fans, they have a right to be wrong and other fans, more in touch with reality and who better understand the sport, can ignore them.

All you green lemonade drinkers have a right to believe the B.S. if you so choose. I'd rather face reality and I believe they are at present the poorest 5-2 team in history. I also believe that unless something is fixed it will show as soon as we start playing the Western teams. That's all, I don't believe that everything is rosy like we're being told.

Its very simple… WIN
However it has been pointed out that if we lose and Winnipeg WINS.
We sit in last place in the west.
Keep in mind that both Winnipeg and BC have played 1 more game than we have. Where the EE and Calgary have not. So if we dont want to be sitting in last place for a few weeks. As well as keeping up with the EE and Calgary. Just win this game in BC.

The refs got it RIGHT!! The offside call on John Chick in the Montreal game WAS correct. John picked up his foot and moved slightly to the right, and only then did the Montreal player stand up.

Check it out . . .

Mike in Assiniboia, In what world does the defensive have to be still before the snap? The defensive players can actually cross the line and the O-lineman still has to stay in his stance or it's a procedure call. If Chick had crossed the line by 2 feet (he didn't) and the O-lineman moved because of that then it would still be called procedure 90% of the time since the O-line has to be disciplined and basically get trucked. None of that happened though so there's no worry. Chick crossed the line a half second AFTER the O-lineman was standing… Read more »
