CHIU JOINS ARGOS

Toronto Argonauts Head Coach Scott Milanovich announced today that seven-time CFL All-Star and two-time Grey Cup champion, Bryan Chiu, has been named the club’s Offensive Line Coach.

Commented Toronto Argonauts Head Coach Scott Milanovich, “I am very excited that Bryan Chiu was available to join our staff. Bryan is a competitor whose 13 years of playing experience and winning approach will prove invaluable to our offensive line.

Milanovich continued, “Pat Perles is no longer available to join our coaching staff this season due to personal reasons. We wish him the very best.”

Brian Chiu joins Toronto’s coaching staff with over 13 years of CFL experience as a Centre.  While blocking for the great Anthony Calvillo, Chiu dressed in seven Grey Cup games (second most all-time by an Alouettes player), winning two in 2002 and 2009.

He was named CFL All-Star seven times, including a six-year streak from 2000-05 and again in 2008, and an East Division All-Star on nine occasions (2000-06, 2008, 2009). He earned awards as East Division Most Outstanding Lineman and CFL Most Outstanding Lineman in 2002. Most recently, Chiu was a member of the Concordia Stingers coaching staff serving as Offensive Line Coach and Assistant Offensive Coordinator.

Bryan Chiu commented, “I am thrilled for the opportunity to come to Toronto and work with the entire coaching staff, especially Scott Milanovich and Jim Barker. These two men were each, at different times, instrumental in the Grey Cup championship teams I was part of as a player. I want to thank the Argonauts organization for believing in me and I look forward to meeting the players and getting to work.”
