COLLAROS HITS THE MARKET
TORONTO (CP) – The Toronto Argonauts have released backup quarterback Zach Collaros.
The move comes less than a week after Argos GM Jim Barker speculated the 25-year-old quarterback might test the CFL free-agent waters next month.
Collaros was a 5-2 record as a starter last season while starter Ricky Ray was injured.
The six-foot-two, 216-pound Collaros was scheduled to become a free agent Feb. 15 but as a result of being released can now sign with the team of his choice immediately.
Toronto Argonauts setting high bar of courtesy, allowing free agents to explore all their available options when It's obvious player intentions are elsewhere.
A high standard of professional organization courtesy. Current, future player prospects surely take these kind of things into consideration when signing with a football club such as the Argonauts. The Hamilton fiasco Is a fine example of a player wanting out and not wanting to be there for whatever reason.

It'll come down to Hamilton or Winnipeg. I could easily see Kent ditching Burris to go with the young, promising talent. And if you're Collaros, who would you want to play for? Winnipeg has a big rebuild ahead so I'm thinking he'll go where the potential to win is unless he and O'Shea are tight. (granted it's the CFL so the Bombers could probably win the cup in 2015)

That would make things interesting but I think we all realize he wants to be a starter asap & with DD here it wouldn't happen any time soon. But like said, who knows?
The guy wants to be a starter now,why would he come here? Winnipeg,Hamilton, or Ottawa.
I think Ottawa would be out of the picture considering who they picked in the expansion draft. But they could trade though.
I agree, Winnipeg is probably the best bet right now. If Hamilton dumps Burris that will change things. In Ottawa, Glenn will be 35 when the season opens, I am not sure how much he has left in the tank? Not overly impressed with DeMarco.
Collaros, Saskatchewan is probably the best bet right now. If the Roughriders dump Durant that will change things for the good in Saskatchewan and their long term future. Not sure how much he has left in the tank. Not overly impressed with Riders back-ups.
