ESKIMOS FINALIZE COACHING STAFF

EDMONTON (CP) – Head coach Chris Jones is taking many of his former Toronto Argonauts assistants with him to the Edmonton Eskimos.

Jones unveiled his staff Tuesday and included are four assistants he worked with last season with the Argos and another two who were associated with the franchise’s ’12 Grey Cup-winning squad. Jones took over as Edmonton’s coach after serving as Toronto’s defensive co-ordinator, assistant head coach and assistant GM in 2012-’13.

Steve McAddo, Toronto’s former offensive line coach, will serve as Edmonton’s offensive co-ordinator. Jason Shivers, a defensive assistant last year with the Argos, is the Eskimos defensive backs coach while Ed Philion is the defensive line coach – a position he held in ’13 with the Double Blue.

Craig Davoren, a defensive assistant and quality control assistant the last two seasons with Toronto, is now an offensive assistant with the Eskimos.

Also joining Jones’ staff are Craig Dickenson (special-teams co-ordinator), Jarious Jackson (quarterbacks coach, passing game co-ordinator, player development) and Kez McCorvey (receivers coach). Jackson was a backup quarterback with Toronto’s 2012 Grey Cup squad while McCorvey was a receivers coach with that team as well.

Dickenson spent last season as the Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ special-teams co-ordinator. He held the same post the two previous years with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

CFL West Division 2014 will have the two Alberta teams 1-2 , Calgary Stampeders, Edmonton Eskimos, with the BC Lions pulling in a 3rd place finish. The remaining two teams will fight it out to the end for the basement and last place standing.

Bo knows football,
so does Jon.
Go Stampeders !

Reporters blog? Correction; that should read, "The Voice of the Saskatchewan Roughriders Mr Rod Pedersen", but anywho, Alberta's CFL teams will be 1-2 this year in the west division standings, Bo, Jon and the team in first place again, as usual. 1-2 shut the door.

A Calgary fan calling a Sask Fan a Country bumbkin is like a chicken calling the Goose a dumb farm animal.
Im sure this all comes from having to clean up all of Six's crap from standing in 1 spot for the whole Western Final. Calgary fans just cant stand hearing the term the defending Grey Cup Champions Saskatchewan Roughriders. Something that will be said all season long. With a great chance of repeating.
You know your Team and Province is special when they come trolling from neigbouring provinces

Your "special" all right. Are your talking about the same team (Roughriders), the same team responsible for 3 GC titles in their 100+ year existence, make that 4 with last years gimme on home soil courtesy of the league and others. A little help for for all the years of stupid Ineptness of management/team blunders, (2010). That fix was a thank you to your long suffering gullible fanbase.

Ha ha ha ha ha. It's just the Stumps fans getting nervous. They always like to make fun of our four Grey Cups. A few years ago it was two. Then it was three. Now it's four. The funny thing is THEY only have six. Ha ha. By the end of this decade we'll be looking down on them with our seven and MOCKING them. Ha ha ha. Can I get a Waaaaaaampeders! I wish there was some media in Calgary that I could go on and heckle their fans. But the problem is, no one in Calgary cares about… Read more »

Are you still in last year country? Wake up ! It's 2014, and a new CFL season beckons just a few months away. Typical Saskatchewan people, they'll talk about once was for the next 20+ years, so sad. But hey, can you blame them? there's nothing else to do in that sad sack province, there should he a mega Trans Canada bypass so you don't have to see that blob in the middle of nowhere called Regina, there's absolutely nothing to see driving through that part of Canada, how could that be, so sad, again. Can they at least try… Read more »

Ha ha ha. You know I'm right about the media not caring about the Stumps in Calgary. And you know I'm right about Saskatchewan about to pass The Stumps in Grey Cups so you won't even touch that. So instead you go off about what…how its boring to drive through the province…seriously…that's your comeback ha ha ha. In the words of Charlie Sheen…WINNING!

Typical Waaaaampeder!!!!
