OIL KINGS 5 PATS 2

EDMONTON (CP) – Curtis Lazar had a hat trick, and the Oil Kings won for the ninth time in ten games, scoring the final five goals to beat Regina 5-2 Wednesday evening at Rexall Place.
Carter Hansen and Morgan Klimchuk scored first period goals for the Pats (24-20-5) who went 0/2 on their Alberta road trip.
Lazar got his first of the game at 19:17 of the first period, then tied it at 1:48 of the second period, and got the winner for Edmonton (32-13-1) at 5:14 of the third. Lazar made it a four-point night when he assisted on Edgars Kulda’s goal. Cody Corbett closed the scoring with a short-handed empty netter.
Tristan Jarry stopped 20 shots for the Oil Kings. Daniel Wapple made 29 saves for Regina.
The Pats host Prince George Friday at 7:00 on 620 CKRM (Press Box Sports Bar Pregame Show at 6:35 pm).

Hard to say where things are going to go. The team is in the last third of the season. There isn't a lot of games left to fix the issues which are plentiful. Once Edmonton flexed it's muscles they were too big and skilled for us. In the third Edmonton made us look like a Bantam team. Looked sad on web TV. Edmonton kept us to the outside all game long and Jarry only had two or three tough saves. I think we tried pretty hard at times but we simply can't handle big teams like Edmonton and Calgary.
