REGINA — The Prince Albert Raiders continued their mastery over the Regina Pats Monday evening, knocking off the Queen City Kids 4-0 before 3615 in the Brandt Centre.  The Raiders are a perfect 5-0 against Regina this season.

After a scoreless first period, Colin Valcourt staked the Raiders to a 1-0 lead after 40 minutes.  A three-goal third period put the game away for the Raiders (20-16-2).  Reid Gardiner (2) and Carson Perreaux also found the net for PA.

The Pats outshot the visitors 27-23 while going 0/3 on the powerplay and 1/3 killing penalties.  Dawson MacAuley made 19 saves in the loss.

Regina (19-16-4) hosts the Lethbridge Hurricanes on New Year’s Day at 2:00 pm on 620 CKRM (Press Box Sports Bar Pregame Show at 1:35 pm).

Just got back from the rink. This team can look so good some nights and so bad at other nights. It has to drive Cameron and Lang up the wall especially with the trade deadline coming.

The Raiders were 2-8 in their last 10 when they came into the game. They were missing their top two players and Morrisey had 10 points against us so far. A perfect time to sell out and try to win a game. All too frequently lately we are hearing of guys failing to compete, and playing with their own agenda. If the coaches and management are aware that this is an issue, it's time fix the problem or it will persist all season. if your not part of the solution, your part of the problem.

What a snooze-fest! At the 8 minute mark of the 2nd period the shots were 13/6 for Regina. I can see why fans are finding other things to do other than attend these games.

Portland and London have 3 players each on Canada's World Junior team. The Pats have been at the bottom of the standings and drafting early for years yet we don't have anything close to talent like that. We must suck at the draft.

It was the Raiders new aquisitions that made the difference on this team. A lot more confident than before. .can't wait till we get the other 5 guys back!

It will be an interesting week with the trade deadline approaching.

I really dislike the Raider's new jerseys.

Go Pats! Start 2014 off with a bang tomorrow against Lethbridge! I hope they play like they did Satruday night against Brandon!

Didn't think the score was indicative of the game as Pats generated lots of opportunities but could not get one by Cheveldave. Just one of those nights. Heard last night that McCoy is leaving the team to go to University. If true, best of luck to him.

Hey Bill. Not sure if we watched the same game. Chances? The Pags hit Cheveldave in the chest 27 times. Likeliest the easiest shutout of his career. pats laid an egg and it was rotten. To be so bad Friday, so good Saturday and so bad Monday…….time to trade the assets and plan for the future.
