Garrett Wright scored twice, and the Regina Pats kicked off the 2019 WHL Preseason with a 3-1 win in Moose Jaw over the Warriors on Tuesday night.

In the first period, Garrett Wright opened the scoring for Regina when he tipped home a point shot on the powerplay. Makai Mitchell and Sloan Stanick picked up the assists at 11:03. Wright added his second of the night three minutes later thanks to another tip, Marcus Taylor picked up the lone assist at 11:03 to make it 2-0 and that was the score after one.

The Pats took that lead into the third where the Warriors put 12 shots on goal, but Mathew Kieper stopped them all and Regina won their preseason opener 3-1.

Garrett Wright led the offence with two goals while Matthew Pesenti and Matthew Kieper combined to make 20 saves. The Pats outshot the Warriors 33-22, the powerplay was one for three and Regina did not have a shorthanded situation.
